Josephine is based in south-east London. She works from her home clinic on Burnt Ash Lane, Bromley and offers a mobile service on Sundays, for individuals or couples, where you can be conveniently treated at home. She provides an exceptional holistic therapeutic experience.
Josephine is a licensed acupuncturist (Lic.ac) in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture. She has ITEC qualifications in Massage, Anatomy & Physiology; Sports Level 3; Deep Tissue & Pregnancy massage, based in South-East London.
As a classically trained ballet dancer, she has a real understanding of how the body works and responds to touch. She performed professionally with Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake company as a principal dancer, in the west-end and on UK & European tours.
With a calm demeanour and strong technique, she puts even the most reserved people at ease. Fully insured and licensed. Member of the AAC (Association of Acupuncture Clinicians)
Her father, a retired consultant urologist and mother, a teacher with a degree in sport and psychology, were not surprised that, after her time as a dancer, she fell into this timeless therapy.
Josephine volunteers fortnightly at St Joseph's hospice, treating out-patients with neuromuscular diseases including parkinson's and multiple sclerosis.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Acupuncture
An initial consultation may take around 75 minutes in order to gain a full picture of your overall health and habits. I will ask to look at your tongue and take your pulse. Once on the table, either in prone (face down) or supine (lying on your back), I will insert single use, sterilised fine needles into areas of the body.
It is advised to wear loose clothing so we can roll up trousers etc otherwise you may need to undress.
Please make sure you've eaten at least 2 hours prior to treatment
For mobile massage home visits you will need:
Space to have a massage table with space to move around.
Provide your own large towels (2) to lie on and be covered as well as a small towel for the face hole.
Please empty your bladder and wash your hands before the start of the treatment.
Please do not book if you, or any of your household feel unwell, also depending on the circumstances, if you are more than 15 minutes late we may not be able to go ahead with the treatment and it will be treated as a cancellation.
